Stockholm Metro – the only one in Sweden – is a great source of pride to the citizens. It regularly leads the top-ranked subways of the world and is said to be the world's longest art exhibition with 110 kilometers of unique art on the platforms, walls, and waiting halls.
The Stockholm metro system consists of 3 metro lines with an unusual structure: the lines meet in the center and branch off at their ends. There are 100 stations in use, with 47 underground stations (mainly in the central city) and 53 ground and aboveground stations.
In April 2022, PLUTON carried out modernization of the working aboveground substation Albano, located between Tekniska högskolan and Universitetet stations on the Red Line. Within the frames of the project, we provided the modern and powerful withdrawable “diode-fuse” rectifier with a rated current of 7 kA, also withstanding 150% overload conditions: 10.5 kA for 2 hours. Line feeders with high-speed circuit breakers are provided for the rated current 8 kA, representing unusual high-load performance. Furthermore, the IEC 61850 Power Industry Communications Standard was also applied to the Albano substation. It provides integration of all equipment and systems at the substation into a unified communication network for prompt and safe control, as well as for the integration into the control system of other levels.
