Pluton has successfully completed modernisation of two traction substations, Wacława and Zapolska, as part of Lodz tram line reconstruction. We have implemented reliable and modern solutions that guarantee smooth operation of power network on the renovated section of the route.
Capacity of the modernised substations allows to increase the trams' frequency, reduce waiting time and improve transportation reliability. All this significantly improves the quality of passenger service and makes transportation more comfortable and efficient for city residents and visitors.
The substations include modern equipment manufactured by Pluton, such as highly efficient rectifiers and compact 660 V DC cubicles designed for operation under heavy load conditions. Technical solutions developed by our specialists improve equipment reliability, greatly simplify operation and optimise use of substation space. In contrast to the outdated equipment, requiring high maintenance costs and frequent repairs, the new equipment minimises operating costs and ensures stable, uninterrupted operation.
The control system is based on SOTA PLC with IEC 61850 protocol support. Integration of the substations into MPK-Łódź Central Power Operations Control Centre via 5G network guarantees high-speed data exchange, remote control and fast response to any changes in equipment operation.
The substations modernisation meets the city's growing requirements and ensures compliance with the most modern standards of tram infrastructure.
