Constantly looking for new ways to improve, we are proud to present the updated line of AFB® arc-free circuit breakers. This innovative product was first presented to the international audience at InnoTrans in 2018. Today, AFB® range has been significantly expanded and now includes three versions, giving our customers even more options to choose the best solution for their applications.

Our new AFB40-20 is the most powerful in the range. It is designed to operate up to 2000 V and 4.0 kA, making it the most optimal solution for railway traction networks with 1500 V voltage class.

The main innovation of AFB® circuit breaker is operation of main contact in vacuum. For short circuit current interruption the current from pre-charged high-voltage capacitor is switched in antiphase to the main circuit current and, as a result, these currents are mutually eliminated.

AFB40-20 offers a number of advantages (compared to traditional arc interrupting circuit breakers), such as safety, environmental friendliness and high wear resistance. It is designed to withstand up to 25,000 maintenance-free operations, including short-circuit tripping, and prevents contact damage during emergency operations. This solution brings DC switching technology to a whole new level of reliability, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
