Supply of two single-unit modular traction substations for power supply of trolleybus line in Mediaș (Romania)
With only 45 thousand citizens, the small town of Mediaș is one of the most well-preserved heritage sites in Romania; at the same time, it is an important transportation hub that provides a convenient connection with the large Romanian cities — the distance between Mediaș and Bucharest is 235 km, nearly 112 km to Braşov, 44 km to Sibiu, and 89 km to Cluj-Napoca. The town has a rather extensive trolleybus network, that provides comfortable moving, doesn't impact the environment, and doesn't violate the arrangement of this historical reminder.
In 2022 Pluton experts carried out a supply of two single-unit modular traction substations for the power supply of the line supposed to be an extension of one of the trolleybus routes. The modules included the following equipment:
- module — 2 units;
- MV switchgear SM6 20 kV — 2 sets;
- DC switchgear 750 V— 8 units;
- DC switchgear RU-750OSH, RU-750RV - 4 units;
- withdrawable rectifier — 2 units;
- traction transformer 730 kVА — 2 units;
- auxiliaries equipment — 4 units;
- auxiliaries transformer 40 kVА — 2 units;
- ground fault control cabinet DEPEC — 2 units.
Commissioning and startup of the modules will be carried out at the end of 2022.
