On May 30, 2022, the grand opening of two new metro stations, “Saryarka” and “Bauyrzhan Momyshuly”, took place. The new stations became the extension of the existing nine stations on the First line. They combined the center with sleeping areas in the western part of the city, and henceforth, it will be much more comfortable and quicker for Almaty residents to get to both sides.

PLUTON experts carried out a comprehensive turn-key project on the supply of combined traction and step-down substations №10 and №11 for the newly built “Saryarka” and “Bauyrzhan Momyshuly” stations, that currently provide reliable and failure-free power supply for the new metro section.

PLUTON equipment, installed in these substations, meets the international standards and provides safe and easy maintenance: NEX Switchgears 10 kV, rectifiers with RESIBLOC® dry transformers, DC switchgears 825 V, charging and rectifying units, uninterruptible power supply systems, switchgears for tunnels, etc. Both substations are equipped with a modern telecontrol system that remotely controls electrical equipment in real-time mode.

The opening of new stations allows increasing passenger traffic by almost twice — it is expected that daily transportation will grow to 85 thousand people. It also helps to reduce passenger load in public transport, clear the roads of traffic jams at peak times, and significantly improve the environmental state of Almaty.
