Baku metro is a complicated technical complex that includes 38 power supply sites:
- 5 traction substations;
- 13 combined traction step-down substations;
- 20 step-down substations.
Total number of power supply remote control system monitored and controlled parameters is more than 45 thousand ones.
The following objectives were assigned when implementing Baku metro operator control, data acquisition and power supply visualization system:
- consolidation of all Baku metro power supply system units into interconnected informational and executive network;
- implementation of unified operator center with remote control of all metro substations;
- software and hardware unification, implementation of unified user interface with the purpose of maintenance personnel adaptation time reduction when changing workstation;
- increasing of metro power supply control system reliability and operability;
- development of system hardware standard design solutions for reduction of costs on remote control system maintenance;
- operating and maintenance personnel number optimization.
Within the framework of the present project PLUTON has successfully fulfilled all the assigned objectives by development and implementation of hardware and software complex PEGAS (Power Energy General Automation System) which is SCADA-based operator control, data acquisition and visualization functional system that allows centralized monitoring of power supply system state and operational control of substations equipment operation and power system remote units.
PEGAS provides control, monitoring and supervision of Baku metro traction, traction step-down, step-down substations equipment operation, as well as helps to perform preventive actions and implement corrective ones 24/7 if required.
